Home Win (Just)
By Tim Edmonds.

Back to the league today, with a home fixture against Frinton & Walton, all the players available again. We had beaten today's opposition 5-0 at their place earlier in the season and I think some of the players had under estimated them today. We started ok and made a few chances but were unable to convert them. About half way through the 1st half we did manage to take the lead, Korben ran through the centre of the defence and the ball ended up at Charlie's feet who finished well with a low strike across the keeper in to the net. The rest of the half was even both sides making chances. At half time I told the boys they needed to show a bit more commitment if we were going to hang on to the lead.

The boys started the 2nd half better, and we found a second goal, this time from Adam, another calm finish. The away team didn't let their heads go down and kept attacking making a few chances, but Jacob in goal was in great form again today, keeping them out. Just before the end Frinton and Walton were awarded a penalty, I think for hand ball. As Arsene Wegner would say "I didn't see it." It was a good penalty. But Jacob nearly kept it out, a great effort. With a couple of minutes left we managed to keep them out and the score finished 2-1. Looking at the match it is clear the Frinton and Walton have improved and gave us a real game today which we were fortunate to win.

Man of the match went to Adam for a great performance at the back and in midfield. We have played better this season and lost, this performance was a step backwards from last week. We have a real challenge next week against Great Bentley the boys will need to be at their best to get a result. Well done boys for the 3 points, see you all Saturday, Tim
