Notes:
Great Start to the Season!
By Jamie Edmonds.

For our first competitive game of the season we had Brightlinsea Regents as our opponents. We only had a squad of seven to chose from and we started off brightly. We had a few chances early on but we couldn't find the back of the net. Stephen was controlling the midfield with some excellent through balls for Ollie who nearly took the opportunity to finish but was unlucky and couldn't finish. The defence was keeping solid and never looked like anything was getting past them. We managed to take the lead, and Harry scored the second after a great assist from Stephen.

At half time I told the boys to continue what they were doing, but to watch the team catching us on the break. We came out the second half even stronger and Frankie scored an excellent volley to make it 3-0. Ollie eventually scored his first with a great finish after a good run down the left. Ollie then grabbed a second after a good pass from Frankie for Ollie to take it in his stride and finish well in front of goal. We continued to dominate and Frankie scored his second and the teams 6th. After numerous efforts blocked or missed by Stephen it looked like he wasn't going to get on the score sheet but he eventually managed to beat the keeper to make it 7-0. Frankie then bagged his hat-trick to finish the game off at 8-0.

I am really pleased with everyone who put in 110% effort and never stopped trying. Well done boys, lets keep this great start going.

See you all Saturday, Jamie.
