A Great Start to the Season
By Tim edmonds.

For our 1st competitive league game, we were at home to Brightlingsea Regents. We had a full squad of 9 players. We started brightly with our starting midfield of Isaak, Reece and Luke W controlling the game even though we were playing against a strong wind. We took the lead when Isaak broke down the right and put a good ball in the box for Reece to smash home. Korben looked lively up front, working hard and making some good runs. We got our 2nd before the break, the same players involved Isaak setting up Reece for another good finish. We looked comfortable at the back Adam and Luke C playing well, with Jacob doing everything right in goal. During the half I bought on Charlie to left midfield and Liam at the back both sloting in well and picking up the pace of the game straight away. At half time I told the boys how pleased I was with the effort the whole team had put in and to keep it up.

We started the 2nd half as we finished the 1st and got our third when Reece battled for the ball in the opposition box which resulted in the Brighlingsea keeper taking the ball over the line.

The boys looked in control of this game and we managed to put some good passing moves together and even managed to miss 2 penalties before the final whistle.

This was a great start to the season, a superb team effort, all the boys working hard for the team.  The parents choose Reece as Man of the Match for his 2 well taken goals and overall hard work.

Well done boys, wee you all saturday at training. Tim
